September 25 — Contemplation and the Humanities in the 21st Century
Hosted by Jake Sherman and Adam Robbert, this first evening will introduce the lecture series and The Theōros Project, a new initiative aimed at renewing the contemplative dimension that sits at the heart of the humanities.
November 13 — The Blind Spot: A Dialogue with Evan Thompson and Matthew David Segall
Philosophers Evan Thompson and Matt Segall discuss Evan’s new book, The Blind Spot (co-authored with Adam Frank and Marcelo Gleiser), and why scientific materialism has been unable to explain the nature of time, life, cognition, and consciousness. Find RSVP details on our announcement page here.

February 3 – Owen Barfield on Owen Barfield
An evening dialogue with Owen A. Barfield. The only grandchild of the Inkling, philosopher, and author, Owen Barfield, Owen became sole trustee of his grandfather’s literary estate in 2007. Owen reminds us of the clarion call by the First and Last Inkling towards the rediscovery of meaning – within our own lives, thinking, and humanity itself.
February 19 – Debashish Banerji (CIIS): The Posthumanities and the Two Cultures
An evening dialogue with Debashish Banerji and Jacob Sherman, where they will discuss the widening gulf between the sciences and the humanities, exploring whether and how these “two cultures” might be bridged in our contemporary moment.
March 27 – Ryan Shea (The Nature Institute): Goethean Phenomenology and the Contemplation of Nature
